How to Use Masterline GH+ for RO Water Remineralization
About Masterline GH+
Masterline GH+ is a mineral powder designed to raise the General Hardness (GH) of aquarium water by adding calcium and magnesium in an optimal ratio. It is ideal for remineralizing RO (reverse osmosis) water, distilled water, or very soft tap water to create the perfect environment for shrimp, plants, and fish that require harder water.
GH+ Dosing Reference
1 gram of Masterline GH+ per 20 liters of water raises GH by approximately 1.5 dGH
The exact GH increase may vary slightly depending on your starting water parameters. Always measure your GH after adding GH+ and adjust if needed. Mix the powder thoroughly until fully dissolved before adding to your aquarium or water change container.
When to Use GH+
- Remineralizing RO or distilled water for water changes
- Creating optimal water parameters for Neocaridina shrimp (GH 6-8)
- Providing calcium and magnesium for healthy plant growth
- Supporting shell development in snails
Tips for Using GH+
- Always premix GH+ in a separate container before adding to the aquarium
- Stir until the powder is completely dissolved – undissolved particles can irritate fish gills
- Use a precision scale for accurate dosing, especially for small volumes
- Test your GH after mixing to verify the desired level is reached
- GH+ only raises GH, not KH – use a separate KH buffer if needed
